ParticipantI’ve had this tumble drier for a good 10 years or so now and it has worked perfectly up until now. It has just suddenly decided to start cutting out as if the power is turned off. It has been resetting after a while but has now just given up the ghost… Does anyone have any ideas before I call out a pro?
Thanks Pete

Moderatorfirst thing to try is plug it in another socket

ParticipantThere’s no problem with sockets. I tried it again last night and it starts fine, heats up and dries for about 10-15 minutes but then just totally shuts down as if it’s been unplugged….

ParticipantI sorted the above problem. Basically the air vent to outside was suck shut so no vented air could escape. I’ve not got a new problem however….
The Drier turns on and make the usual heating noises but there’s no rotation. Is this something as simple as a drive belt failure or something more sinister?
Thank you Pete

ParticipantIt is. Having trouble finding the spare part though. Will speak to Miele on Monday as the usual spares websites don’t appear to stock it…. Thanks Dave

Moderatorto be honest forget the spares websites with miele as most times they are cheaper on gen parts

ParticipantDave, Can you help me taking the thing to pieces so i can get the new belt around the drum? I’ve taken top, sides and front off but there is another frama that is holding the drum tight. Cant see a way of loosening it….
