Should have bought an ISE 10, every bit as good as the Miele and fully installed, tested and demonstrated by your local independant agent with ten year guarantee. Nicer looking as well 😉
I assume you are attempting to fit the drain pipe to another pipe under the sink.
There are so many different types of fittings used it would be difficult to advise you without seeing it.
Can you post a picture of the pipe you are trying to attach it to?

Thanks for that insight Adam, but there again a module for an ISE doesn’t cost over half the price of a new one, or a pump a fifth the cost of a new on or… oh, I’m sure you get the idea.
And, lest I forget, ISE agents don’t charge £99 to callout and see you either.
But then, ISE10 wasn’t around last year so wasn’t even in the Which? report and it’s difficult to use that as a yardstick if the product didn’t exist for any comparisons to be drawn by Which?.

Hi Teresa,
We all still are entitled to hold an opinion. 😉
That said, all that Jim was saying in a nice way, was that very often installation is not as straight forward as most people think it is. In fact, mis-installation accounts for well over 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of service calls in the first two weeks of ownership so that would suggest that a lot of people do struggle to install a washing machine (or whatever) correctly despite telling us otherwise. It’s not just as simple as many people assume it to be if you want it to work correctly and loads of people don’t even bother to read the instructions.
That’s the sad reality of it and the non-politically correct answer as we have to assume that no-one is capable, not that everyone is.
Adam’s comment was no more than having a pop at ISE for some reason that I don’t understand.
K.

Sorry if you think this was unprofessional Teresa, but as I said in my first post, without being able to actually see the ends of the two pipes you are attempting to join we would be unable to offer constructive advice.

your doing it again adam 👿
time and time again, you make sweeping statements based on things you have no idea about
teresa was asking advice about installation, thats all
kwatt has a point, and , genuine engineers , the likes of kwatt, iadom and myself do find installation problems on a regular basis
this site is designed to help, not frighten people away
i just hope teresa sees that, and returns at some stage if she needs any help
im no angel, i admit there are times when i may have an edge to my comments, but at least im constructive
remember, adam, brain into gear before typing, you wont win any friends by being overly objective
teresa, if you read this, can you let us know how you’ve gone on please

Ok-I have made my point.I was just amazed that anyone with any “people skills” would reply with “you should have bought this one”.I have run a business myself once, and that type of response would have had my customers running out of the door.Thats the only point I was making. Not sure what the “Which Report” relevance is,although I know they are not always a popular organisation with tradesmen, they can help to make choices (though I didnt use them personally),I relied on the recommendation from this very site (and the price I bought it had had a bearing too on which one I chose)

Sorry if my answer was misconstrued, the Miele is an excellent machine. My main gripe is with retailers who sell you a high quality piece of kit and then just leave it in the middle of the kitchen for you to sort out yourself.
Sometimes, ( most times ) it is worth paying that little extra to get quality service, installation and backup, particularly with a high ticket item like this.
So, back to your original post. Is it the connection under the sink or units that is giving you problems.
Jim.

Teresa, the hook end clips off the outlet hose-pipe, have you noticed this?
It can be joined directly to another pipe without the hook piece.February 12, 2008 at 7:02 pm #242077teresagreen
ParticipantRe: Miele W 3740-just delivered
The hook piece is missing
