miele w149 inner lid

This is a toploading machine. I’m told by the manual that a quick-flashing light by the start button means that the inner lid is not locked. The catch itself looks fine to me and seems to be pressing the little button within the catch slot. I have turned the power off and back on. Does anyone have any ideas for me to pursue? silly question is the inner drum in the correct position? Try switching appliance off at the wall rotating the drum all the way round so its opening is at the top again and rebooting it! Has long as the the door catch, door interlock are all ok and its opening off the door release button then it could be one of a number of things pcb, sensor etc etc and these are really a pig to work on very well made but very awkward for the first time to take apart and put back together and not only that due to the cost of the parts i would highly recommend you get an engineer to look so your 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} positive what it is.

The inner drum seems to be in the correct position, Phil, but doesn’t turn and, from memory, I don’t think it ever did when opening the top and inner lid.
From what you are saying it seems as though I will just have to bite the bullet and call the repairman.
