I have a Miele W1512, purchased in 2006. Excellent build quality, but this week the programs have started to misbehave.

For example: Cottons wash fine and then during rinses the pump stays activated for 3-4 minutes, the digital timer clock does not move and then it jumps from say 40 mins to 52 mins. It eventually completes the cycle much longer than normal, but does not finish with a fast spin. Most other programs are similar, a rinse missed, or spin not completed. The pump does also run far longer than it should. No fault light or codes however. I have cleaned the filter and water pipes that i can reach.
It it electronic? or is some part confusing the computer?

It may be as you say “is some part confusing the computer?”
I doubt very much if there is a “computer” in the machine even though you paid a lot for it, it is however controlled by an electronic circuit board like most modern machines. Perhaps whats confusing the electronic is the pressure vessel is clogged with crud, which prevents the electronics getting the message that the appliance has emptied. It needs to be cleaned out. Your local appliance engineer should be able to do this.

Thats his loss, they are best engineered product on the market & quite straightforward to repair for any with a basic understanding of appliances.
Miele will look at it but will charge you considerably for the privilege.

Don’t I know it, that’s why I am here! I can do things, I just can’t figure out how to get at the parts as the panels don’t seem to come off as easy as some…
