Miele w1514.

Hi guys
Not an expert on Miele machines. Customer asked me to fit a door seal, I get there and she says she wants it changed as its tearing clothes, there is a small tag at the top of the seal missing but I can’t see that’s the reason. New seal looks different but a pne on connect confirms its the right one, does anyone know if Miele have updated the seal and is for for this problem of catching clothes,all the obvious have been checked. Sn 40/69694956 if that’s any help

i may be wrong but i think that tag pushes clothes back into the drum when on spin

looked at seal on connect and maddocks. as usual connect are £11 dearer

Thanks for that. My concern is why the seal got damaged in the first place, wondering if there is a drum fault. Don’t want to guarantee the seal when I’m not sure if that’s the real problem

same as any other machine swing on the drum to see if it moves and give lecture about overloading

Yep done that mate. There was a very slight grooving on the seal but no obvious signs of drum spider damage. She will have to see how it goes

Worth checking the four drum support springs are ok,as even if one is put on incorrectly the drum can catch on the door boot.

And that lug/lip fitted on the top of door boot/gaskets on most machines is an anti-splash device, supposedly !
