Machine starts wash prog ok,then shortly afterwards flashes up F53.
This is a speed sensor fault.
Don`t know if the speed sensor is part of the motor tacho or pcb?
Any pointers please?
The motor endplate comes off motor in situ, it includes brushes, holders, tacho coil & plug connecton.
If you identify the cable from tacho at the motor connection, turn the drum by hand through the open door, it should generate a voltage up to 3 volts on meter depending on how fast you turn it, this will prove if tacho coil is generating voltage or not.
Thanks.Tested tacho coil 3 volts generated ok.
Motor checked out with mega ok.
All connection looked good.Machine 6 yrs old in good order.
Tested seemed fine.
Apparently worked ok for 1 wash then F53 again.
As the machine was filling the drum started rotating faster than normal, then F53!
Is it worth replacing the tacho motor end plate or is the pcb suspect?? Perhaps a job for Miele engineer?
Think the end plate is available on its own less than £100 i’d imagine, check tacho magnet isn’t cracked or deformed.
To be honest its one of those that could turn out a pig, i’d be thinking theres a fault on the tacho, magnet or wiring, even connections of tacho on endframe. It could of course be the P.C.B at fault and its pricey then of course.
If you can borrow a motor or just endplate from another appliance
that you know is good it will point to whats the fault.
In the past a new end frame has let me out but each is different.
