ParticipantOur Miele w360 is having issues. We bought it from one of our customers who were emigrating to replace our aging hotpoint at home, and its done well for the last 3 years (Its date stamped 2001 so im guessing its 8 years old now). But recently its been a bit temperamental. At first the led lights would fade off occasionally and interupt the wash cycle and has become a little more regular, and it was particularly noticeable when ever the on/off switch was being operated. Although not particularly au-fait with mieles as we arent authorised dealers to stock or repair them, we do have plenty of experience with other less complicated manufacturers.
Anyway as we have our own workshop, out it went for a holiday. I ordered the on off switch pcb as everything else seems to work but just rigged it up and the damn thing wont even turn on now. I have current passing through the machine across the front facia pcb, the switch pcb and the main pcb over the drum but I cannot work out why it wont turn on at all now. No visible signs of blown components and only a few of the usual carbon lines on the main pcb over the drum. But what gets me is i cant work out why it was actually working in my home but it wont even switch on, let alone start in the workshop !!! Its doing my head in! I wouldnt be surprised if it was something simple ive overlooked but they tend to be the hardest things to spot!
PS yes both new and assumed faulty switch pcb have been tested in machine in the workshop, and all connections are tight and fully on too. Wont also turn on in shop too, and fixed a dishwasher in the workshop at same time after giving up on the miele so know the workshop is fine 😛
Theres current across the fascia pcb too when the appliance is live and switched on and disappears when the machine is turned off on either of the new or old switch pcbs like it should do.
HELP?!?!

Not trying to teach my Granny to suck eggs or anything but have you by any chance got a break in the wiring from the front panel ? or didn’t you have to remove this to replace the on/off switch?

front panel just pops out and the switch slides down off a clip. i didnt unclip anything else other than the terminals on the switch pcb as there was just enough slack in the wiring to play with it but i guess its feasible one of the fascia pcb connections might have gotten strained even though i was gentle. hmm…

You never know your luck, wouldn’t it be just typical on a complex machine for something that simple to give you grief ? Did you find the circuit diagram that’s apparently tucked away inside all these machines ?
Have you contacted site admin about getting Trade access yet ? A lot more information available over there.

Nooooo most annoyed as its not anywhere to be seen so i cant even check that connections are on the terminals the right way round. Im 99.9{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure but its funny how doubt creeps into your mind when things dont follow a conventional path 😛

Spoke to miele and their very helpful tech guy (muchos respect to him in case hes reading) suggested looking at the interlock as the connection often comes loose if you pull the fascia pcb out too far. my washers at the workshop atm so havent had the chance tp play but will try later today but totally didnt occur to me. and yes i know it should have done 😛
simple things eh 😛

Glad to see you getting further forward with it, funny thing is if it was a customers machine the Interlock would probably have been 1 of the first things you checked for this sort of thing.
Strange when it’s our own machines we have to fix, Logic goes out the window 😆 -
