ParticipantI went to this machine on Wednesday with reported drain fault. The machine was draining perfectly, but for an extended period of time, and then flashing up “check drain”. As expected, I found the pressure chamber tube was completely blocked, so I cleared that and retested the machine on the Express cycle. My impression was the water level was lower and drain phases longer than I would have expected, but put that down to the machine possibly having to recalibrate its pressure sensor following the repair.
This morning, the customer reported that programs weren’t finishing. I visited today and found that programs were in fact going through to the end, but the drain pump then carrying on pumping continuously during the “finish/anti crease” phase until the machine is switched off.
Does anyone have experience of this particular issue?

Check the metal part of the pump,if this is very hot to the touch, then this could be your problem…had a similar problem with one recently

Clean the breather tubes from top to bottom!

Thanks both for your suggestions.
Martin – I think the pump will be hot as it stays on for hours. Do you remember What the solution was?
chitts – I’ve already cleaned the pressure chamber (drum to pressure sensor, which was blocked solid) and checked the top breather hose (drum to dispenser, which was clear). Is there another breather that could be blocked and causing the pump to over-run?

As previously said check breather tubes. As this one got the y piece by the side of the dispenser? If so try cleaning that and the attached hoses going down to the drain pump and back to the air break.

Thanks Phil for your input. I contacted my customer to book a further visit to check the outlet breather hoses, but he reported the machine is, at least for now, working perfectly.
