Can anyone tell me if the heating element is activated at all on the cold wash settings on a Miele W524?
I have seen recommendations on the forums to use a cold wash to avoid nuisance tripping, but this doesn’t work on ours, it trips out on cold settings as well as hot.
I have checked continuity on the element, and everything measures fine (24 Ohms or so), although I haven’t got a high voltage tester.
I disconnected the element, and it seems to work fine now with no tripping; but I’m confused why it won’t work on a cold wash normally, and wondered if there might be another cause, before I replace the element?
