ParticipantHi
When the washing machine is on and filling up with water, a little while later, the rcd trips.
If its on a drain / spin program, it works without any issues.
There’s no obvious leaks from what I can see with the top cover removed.
I did also try to select the cold program, and a little while later, it also trips the rcd.
This leads me to think perhaps the heating elements need replacing. But before i do this, can someone advise me where this part is?
Which cover of the washing machine should I remove to access? I have multimeter, and if someone can also advise what the reading should be if it’s defective?
Thanks
P.

DaveHi Dave, thanks for the info.
Have checked the heating elements to earth: 2.1M ohms
What does this reading indicate? If it’s defective, would this cause the rcd to trip?
Thx

Moderator2.1 is not bad
the 2 most likely parts to cause this are motor or heater
as a quick test, disconnect the main heater wires and try the machine to see if it trips

DaveInteresting, I did what you advised – it’s not tripping.
Previously, as soon the water is filled I.e. prior to the heat up, it would trip.
Time to replace the heater? Where can I find the part number from?
Thanks
