    Hi,

Our miele has stopped working on the rinse cycle part of the wash. It spins fine when set to spin only but when set to rinse only the rinse light flashes after a minute and three dashes appear on the timer display. We got an engineer out to look at it and he said he’d get back to us, having got frustrated with waiting we had a look ourselves. I took the side panel off and checked the filter on the pump, found a hair clip and other bits in there. Put it back together and it worked again, but only for 4 more washes and the same error code appeared. Took it apart again but took the filter, pump and all the pipes leading to and from the pump off and checked and cleaned them as best I could, found a couple of coins and bits of gunk but they weren’t in the vicinity of the pump itself. Put it back together and worked fine for another 2-3 goes and now the same fault occurs again.

Any suggestions on what the problem might be or something I need to check that I haven’t done so far?

    Thanks

Well it doesn’t take much to stop the pump impeller and who’s not to say some other foreign object remains undetected? Still very possible. The other possibility is the pump itself is clapped out? Check to see if there is any lateral movement of the impeller? A sure sign the pump has had its day.

    Hi,

Thanks for the advice. I took the pump off and there was some play in the impeller. Ordered a new pump and fitted it this morning, unfortunately the same problem occurs at the rinse stage of the wash.
Any ideas or is it time to give up?

    Thanks
