Make sure brushes are released and in contact with armature, check moter block wires are not broken to motor and trace them back as these are common to break/
The brushes are in ok and making contact. When you switch machine on it fills then does nothing really, depending on which program it sometimes fills then drains away after its finished filling. I have had this kind of fault in the past, one time it was the motor and the second time the transformer on the pcb had failed. I was going to send the pcb away and get it checked incase its faulty
If all the above is ok and the motor bells out across coil/armature and thermal fuse that LED also indicates a short circuit thyristor on the power board.
