I have narrowed down my search to these last two machines. I know the ISE has a 10 year parts and labour warranty but so does the miele at present.

My question is this, how much would it cost for a new motor for both of these machines in present day prices? This is only to give me an idea of future repair costs which I know is a long time away for both machines.

    Thanks

    Hi

The ISE will be far far cheaper on spares than the Miele. It will also be repaired by a local service engineer with spare parts just a quick phone call away and no restrictive practice on technical information either.

Just priced a motor for the Miele W5740 at £499 retail :eeek:

If you look at the bottom of this post you will see there are some related topics, for further info type ISE + Miele into the advanced search button towards the top right of this page.

    Hi Don,

Thanks for the reply & info. Its not that I’m tight or anything but just that I’m eventually replacing My Zanussi S218T which was purchased in September 1980 and only needing new bearings and pump in its lifetime but has eventually given up the ghost.

So if a new machine will be half as good as this then I’ll be a happy bunny.

    Thanks

The ISE will fit the bill very nicely then 🙂

    Hi Don,

In your first reply you didn’t quote a price for a new ISE motor also I went to purchase a ISE to find that a £50 delivery & fitting charge added. For what connecting to a cold pipe putting waste pipe into existing pipe and plugging in. The Miele is now working out at £107 cheaper.

    Thanks

The motor in a 1607 is about £150 but, since there are none out of warranty (even commercial) for nearly another two years it’s not been priced fully as yet.

Sadly, we have to pay people to deliver and install machines, they won’t do it for free. What Miele do I’ve no idea.

    Hi

I don’t have any parts look up for ISE on this PC, Ken may see this and add the price 😉

As for the installation charge, in addition to to what you have listed add the removal of transit bolts, levelling of appliance, wet test, customer demonstration and the all important disposal of the old appliance. I think £50 is extremely good value for that level of service.

The Miele may work out £107 cheaper up to that point but over the lifetime the ISE will be lot cheaper as the spares are only a fraction of the cost.

    Thanks Both,

I’ll now see if I can order 1 and get it delivered before 09th Jan 2012 when I return to work.

Its just annoying when you click on checkout to find the price has changed to a different price to whats quoted on the product page.
