    Hi there,
I’m still looking for any help someone can give me in connection with the error symbol – – that is showing up in the display panel. The machine just stops with this error symbol in the middle of a cycle and can only be restarted by switching the machine off then on again. There is no particular cycle when it does it and has on occasions come up with the symbol at initial start up. At this point all that happens is the pump starts up even before any water has entered the machine. 🙁

    Any help appreciated please.

    Thanks

I’d check if there was water in the base and has activated the anti-flood switch, if there is one on this particular machine.

Sorry for late response but wasn’t alerted to your posting.
No I’m afraid it’s nothing like that as I’m well past that stage. It does have a float switch but the fault occurs at random between changes in the wash cycle, ie Pre Wash to Wash and Wash to Rinse and Rinse to Spin/Drain

Perhaps there is a fault on the float that is activating the switch. Could be plug damaged, slight short circuit perhaps, loom/cable damaged etc, the float may be warped etc causing this. I have previously seen polystyrene float discs become warped/damaged causing problem described.
The appliance will normally throw up an error code F1,F2, to F7,F8 etc, some other faults are not shown to consumer (all you will see is — to denote a fault) they then will only be viewable to an Engineer entering into the service mode/ diagostics of the appliance.
Things to check are pressure vessel been clogged up with gunge, motorized water valve not going to correct position, a short circuit to earth of heater or motor, or in some of the snazzy Mieles with the lamp in door seal, it can become loose & the locating switch of lamp is not recognising that a lamp is in place so it shuts down.
