Hi all, I had a look at this washing machine and the bearings are gone, and the inner drum has dropped a little, I have never replaced bearings on one of these machines before so I have a couple of questions I hope someone can help me with.

    1. Is it likely the shaft on the drum will need to be replaced?

    2. Do the bearings come as a kit or can I buy the seal on its own and get the bearings elsewhere. [cheaper] Connect show bearing kit £132. Retail.

3.Is the heating element likely to have been damaged by the drum dropping?

4.Do I need to take the outer drum out to take the bearing housing off the back to fit the new bearings.

    Thanks Mark.

Not too often you’ll have to do a bearing job on a Miele is the good news. They are made of sturdy stuff.
I take the cross-piece off the back, knock out bearings & seal, replace both bearings & seals. Not overly difficut to do really.
There is a sleeve/piece that can be taken off shaft & replaced if its damaged which should come with the bearing & seal kit, you may find its not damaged & in that case i’d leave it on if it looks good.
Check heater for damage, it could be about £60 or something rediculous like that if its damaged.
