ParticipantCalled out to the above machine last week to clear out the pump to drain hose and Got a call back today with a complaint of noisy on spin. Sounds like a failing front motor bearing, And I was wondering if Miele supply an Armature complete with bearings, Or is it a new motor 😯 I really don’t want to know the price of a new unit as the customer is getting on a bit and the shock might finish him off.

Hi Goose
Miele prices of late have, shall I say reduced to a nearly pallatable level 😉
You may need to post the seriel number as that seems pertinent in gaining the correct spares for most Mieles 😀Greg

Years ago I called Meile for a price for a dishwasher motor and was astounded to be quoted over £250 8O. I remember some posts regarding AEG motors suffering from the same fault, And someone managed to remove and refit the belt pulley and change the bearing. Might be an option on this one, Even taking it to an engineering firm to have the work carried out could possibly save a £100 or so. Will try to get the S/N from the customer.
Cheers

You can do the bearings on an AEG/FHP motor with an automotive gear puller. The current Miele motor is a souped up CESET job – the motor pulley will not come off, believe me.
