Hi all,

Should the door button open the door during the wash?
I’ve never tried it before but my son was with me and this is the conversation we had during a test wash after I had cleaned out the pressure bottle:

son – ‘can the door be opened during the wash?’
me – ‘no’
son – ‘have you ever tried it?’
me – ‘no, not on this machine anyway’
son – ‘can i try it?’
me – ‘sure’
tries it and door opens
son – ‘you know nothing about Mieles’
me – ‘clearly’

As I said above, I’ve never pressed the door button during the wash and when you do it pauses the programme and opens the door. When the door is closed the programme continues, is this normal?
By the way, my son is 8 and he already knows I’m a dope!

The user guide says the door can only be opened if there is no water in the drum.

Just found the manual myself this second and sure enough, you can open the door.
It says you can open during any stage of certain washes except if temp is over 55 or if it’s spinning.
Everyday is a schoolday.
