Now that posting pics is so easy I’m having a whale of a time! 😀
This is what the inside of the relay looked like:

i’ve just finished doing the exact same job on the EL200 board Replaced relay and fuse, usually cut the old parts open to have a look inside..not seen any as bad as that relay pictured on earlier post though!

already done this repair with exact replacement components about six months ago. problem came back and yes both relay and fuse blown. ive repaired the board again as i now carry these parts. but the rinse light is still flashing.
any ideasMarch 10, 2013 at 9:35 pm #352864leavemetogetonwithit

Check for small voltage from tacho at conn. to board whilst revolving drum by hand. (Connection diagram tucked in there somewhere.) If you have signal and brushes are OK, then there is still a fault on board unless there is a problem in loom to motor. Assuming your repair is good, check motor triac etc.
If it repeated the same self-destructive behaviour, machine almost sure to need new shocks (Europart do them cheapest last time I looked.)
I’ve just broken a Miele with same board and motor due major spider failure. Drum was seized as a consequence. Not checked board or motor yet but look OK. Let me know if you want either for a fair price and I’ll get on with checking them.

hi mike
thanks for the offer. as this machine is in a semi professional laundry (holiday complex) shes decided to replace it as it is getting on and has now lost faith.
at my last visit i discovered that the fuse had blown again even though it had never actually worked.
its a win win repair most of the time but on this occasion there must be some other factor involved. (motor checked out ok)

Hi all
I repair quite a few of the EL200 boards myself, but have now got a EL200C board to repair..
On this board there is a extra relay underneath the one marked 6K1 in the picture a few posts up..
(The usual one that the contacts weld together in)Anyone know what this is for?

Hi all, I have a customer who has a Miele W842, with the typical rinse light flashing, I have replaced the brushes, and looked at the fuse and replaced it along with the relay. This normally does work and I have done a few of these but not this time, still doing the same I’m guessing there is another fault on the board anyone able to help me out with this one?
Thanks Ian

you will have to trace the motor circuit. cant think from memory but therer may be more than 1 relay involved. check motor make sure you have all connections would not be the first time i did not get the brushes to connect properly
put a picture of both sides of the board on here may help

Thank you Dave,
I have checked the brushes to make sure they are contacting as I have had the same issue once that took me about 10-15mins to find out after replacing them so now I test all of them when I replace them.
Here is both sides of the board as requested no obvious signs of failure

I checked the connections from the pins on the motor, I didn’t think about testing the wire harnis to the board mind, I was having one of them days where the day just didn’t go right, and I got to the point where I’d checked the usual fail points and now I’m here lol
