My wife says a lamp flashed and the machine stopped part way through a wash. She unscrewed the filter, drained the machine and cleared/cleaned the rotor and filter. She said there was a residue there and she suspected some seal had perished.

All appears to be OK if I unscrew the filter, but perhaps some seal is missing altogether. I tighten it up firmly, but water floods out when I start the wash cycle – as if it hasn’t been tightened at all.

Sorry about the small photo – upload size limit would not allow larger. I looked at photos of similar parts on eBay etc, all seals looks to be present on my filter. The three seals are all intact, uncracked, and feel resilient – not hard.

have a careful look in the filter housing. the first step in the housing is the seal we are interested in. check for debris, small stones etc

after thet you probably have not got it locked in enough

    Sorted! Many thanks Dave!

A small transparent fragment of glass was blocking the filter thread. I couldn’t see it until I had completely dried the thread, and only then when using a bright torch.
