Hi i went to a Miele w844 washing machine today which when set to a wash fills up for about 30 seconds then stops with the rinse light flashing, it also does it on rinses and spin. It seems to happen when the motor should kick into life. I dont see many miele machines but i checked the brushs and continuity through motor both fine. I also checked water valves, pressure chamber and filter. It fills up quickly so it is not a water pressure issue. i would be really grateful for any advice thanks alot :lesson:

What you describe is a typical brush problem. Suggest you remove the brush module on the rear of the motor and take a look. Meggers often give a good reading on brush problems due to the dust etc.

oh! Check the wiring to motor from module then. Could be a nasty ££$$ problem if not.

Yeah its a drive failure for sure, on the new machines with 3 phase motors there is an in built cut out in the motor and these can give trouble, or if theres a frequency converter board, check that the fuse on board has not blown, there is a visible fuse and there is a “track fuse” which is just a very thin track of solder on board. I’ve seen that blown.

💡 BE CAREFUL while working with frequency converter boards there is a Voltage of 400 volts stored in capacitor long after power is switched off. Gives a nasty kick!
