Miele W844 Novotronic

Hi All,

I have done a search for “Miele Door Lock” and come up with over 6000 entries!

So…

Brother-in-law’s Miele W844 was dead.
I called round Saturday and it was alive! :rolls:
Functional checks show all working however I was concerned that I found the door could open whilst washing. 😯 One depression of the door buton and nothing but an immediate second push and it opened. Is this normal for these machines? 😕 Doesn’t open during spin or at high water level.

If door lock anyone have a part number/price?
If not and consensus is probable faulty door lock then I’ll contact Miele.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Silly point possibly but i had one of these and the problem was the “emergency” door release cable -located by the filter- had got moved when the customer had checked her filter and because it wasn’t in position she was having to shove the door hard-twice to make it work

Hi All,

My thanks to those who have advised, much appreciated.

Typically, since I had a fiddle it has worked fine however I’m not a fan of fiddled ‘repairs’ so I’ll await the recall!
