    Hi All

Starting a separate thread as it’s a new problem …

So, removed the entire pump and filter unit and cleaned out a ton of limescale pieces, along with coins, paper and plastic wrappers. I also removed and cleaned the rubber hoses leading to and from the pump. These were loaded with crunchy limescale as well.

Having carefully reassembled the entire machine I did a short test to check for leaks. And there is a big one at the pump unit. I could only see the ‘overflow points’ – i.e. the small drain hose behind the lower left access door and, when I blocked that, the water began to come through around the edges of the large screwcap on filter.

What have I done wrong in putting it all back together? I was fairly tough with a screwdriver inside the filter unit, hacking at limescale, but not sure I broke any seals etc.

    Advice gratefully received. Thanks.

    Hi

Seals need a smooth surface to make a correct seal . If you’ve hacked at the body with a screwdriver then you’ve probably scrapped the pump and will need a new one.
