Miele W844 Spin Cycle & Draining

Hello,

I recently moved into a new house and am now a proud owner of a Miele W844 washing machine. I have just turned the machine on for its first run this week and have come into a couple of problems which I am hoping to be able to fix myself with some guidance.

Problem one – the machine will not go into a spin cycle. Problem 2 – there seems to be a leak at the point where the drain hose is attached to the U-bend.

I have just ordered a couple of new carbon brushes and dampers to replace the old ones(hoping this will solve the spin issue). Does anybody have have any other suggestions as to anything else I should be looking out for? Does anyone still own one of these? Does anyone know if the U-bend comes off the hose(I don’t want to risk damaging it since a new one is pretty expensive)?

Hi,

Thanks for replying. That’s great. I managed to pull it off and it looks like its missing a seal/gasket. Just bought a universal U-bend.
