Miele W864 rinse light flashing

Hi,

Called out to this machine yesterday. No motor action and rinse light flashing on all cycles. Checked carbons, worn but still about 1/2″ left. Checked pressure chamber, fine. Checked wiring continuity, fine. Tacho seems fine but obviously being Miele no idea of knowing if resistance is right. Machine & motor both megger okay.

There are some slight burn marks on the power board, cleaned it up but still the same fault. Is there anything else that can cause this fault? Miele want the normal arm and a leg for a new one and it’s a lot of money to spend on a hunch.

Thanks for your reply – it starts bout 5 secs after starting any programme.

if you search for miele rinse light you get a few hits

had a similar thing when a cutomer used machine with transit brackets in blew relay and fuse on board

Cheers, thanks Dave. Tried using the new search on here but couldn’t get it to find anything. Will let the customer know the bad news, although great knowing what part it is as hopefully might have a chance of sorting a repair.

board should be easily repairable relays are easy to got so are the fuses
the fuse looks noting like you imagine on mine is was a small black rectangular blob soldered into the board the only clue was an amp rating on the side
