Pressure sytem blockages blow lots of heaters – don’t get much else with them.

Brushes, door interlocks are the most usual faults I’ve come across in my limited experience of the washers. Straightforward but heavy work, more like working on a vehicle! Give me a Beko anyday!

Door seals, motor brushes, crap in the pump/dump valve, broken loom wires in right hand corner base. I imagine they will be using WS5426 / 7 (little giants) lovely machines. Whole front panel hinges open to the right 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of repairs done through the front. Hidden screws behind soap drawer panel, 3 nuts around door porthole.

First of all don’t be put off by them, you can do it. They are exceptionally well engineered, made to last! On the dryers the small relay board behind facia fails. Build up of dust dirt etc on contacts of drum prevents automatic heating sensing. On washers i’ve replaced motors, drum bearings complete crosspiece, quite easy to do. Heaters also have been known to blow if damaged by coins etc, good thing is there are 2 heaters, you can disconnect faulty one until new one comes. You will probably find washing machines are two or three phase supply in hospitals, nursing homes etc. Heaters can be 400v or 230v watch out for this when ordering. Every machine has a circuit diagram inside to follow if someone hasn’t pinched it.

I have been driven mad by scale in the filters, you clean them and can’t re-seal; have to carry a new filter and housing, perhaps not a problem in your area.
The older dryers blow relays on the PCB’s a lot (no motor action, no reverse) also check any protection fuses first. The fan motors can get noisy, rubbish in the fan, broken fan, fan motor bearing moving in the case.
