    Hi

You guys have been immensely grateful in the past so trying my luck again- this time for my Mum’s machine.

Its a Miele, around 7 years old and works perfectly. However when its not used for a while- say a week or so, it starts to smell something awful. Once you use it for a couple of loads the smell disappears. Mum’s gone away on holiday now so she asked me to pop in twice a week and put in a load so it doesn’t start smelling.

Any idea what can cause this, and what to do to remedy it?

    Thanks so much!

Do your mum a favour and squirt a bit of bleach in the drum and run a boilwash. When it’s finished, leave the door and drawer open – it should be fresh until she returns.

And tell her that the 1st wash she does when she comes back home do not wash coloureds just in case!

I’ve got a Miele & I’m militant about removing the detergent drawer after each wash & leaving it to air dry. + I leave the door open too.

Its as fresh as a daisy!

I once went on hol & my old machine absolutely stank when we got home. The door had been jammed shut.

+ run the machine on empty with a scoop of standard powder, 90 degrees.
