I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the differences between country settings on a Miele washing machine.
We have a W2652 WPS, which is nearly 10 years old, we are very happy with the machine – no current issues with it.
However, I am aware how to get into the two ‘secret’ menus of the Miele system. So shortly after we got it I stuck the spin speed up to 1800 rather than 1600. I also noticed some country specific options. AU, EU, USA and S – while I looked at each of these I noticed that EU (which of course we are) a typical cottons wash took around 1h 30 yet in AU mode it only took 45 mins and S 54 mins.
Does anyone know what the differences are in these country specific modes?

The mains voltage of the country. Climate of the country. Some countries like Australia have cold water detergent cycles.

I know the machine voltage is the same – it’s just going in as the five button menu when you turn the machine on so it displays the engineers menu when they service the appliance.
I could imaging cold water cycles yes, but it doesn’t change anything but the time visually on the display. Hence why I am intrigued, only the UK has the longest wash, the others on cotton are shorter but 20 mins.

If you move to Oz then I would think the local Miele agent could reprogram it for you. 💡
