Hi there,
Our Miele WT-2780 washer dryer has started leaving a fair amount of detergent in the main part of the detergent drawer after washes. If I use the pre-wash compartment instead, it takes the detergent fine.
I’ve given the detergent drawer and jets a good scrub with some limescale remover but it doesn’t seem to have made much difference.
I’ve also checked the inlet valves on the water feed hose, and there was no grit or anything there. The water pressure elsewhere in the house also seems fine (the kitchen sink is next to it).
The pressure actually seems ok to the pre-wash compartment of the drawer (the one on the right), but not so much on the main detergent section (the one in the middle). Here’s a couple of videos that might be useful…
The first video shows the jets to the pre-wash compartment. All jets there work well. Note that the jets on the far right hand side are just dummy ones and are actually sealed over.
The second video shows the jets to the main detergent compartment. There seems to be less pressure, and the central rows of jets don’t seem to do anything at all, though they aren’t obstructed with scale or anything.
I’m wondering if…
a) There is loads of limescale inside the middle part of the jet assembly. Looking at the machine with the lid off (unplugged of course), I think I’d need to remove some hoses to get to the top of there. Is that worth a go though?
b) Failing that is it likely to be a problem with the diverter valve? Note the odd (and loud) clicking/rubbing noise at the start of the first video. That noise seems to come from where the diverter is located. I had a Miele engineer out years ago to repair another issue and he said that that clicking noise is normal. It definitely didn’t make that noise when we first got it though.
What would you guys try next?
Thanks very much,
Andy
