Miele WT2670 / F53 & F12 errors

Miele WT 2670 washer dryer. Works fine on wash cycles & runs through without issue. On dry cycles however will come up with F12 and or F53 error codes.

From what I can find F12 is an inlet problem and F53 a motor fault (brushes or tacho fault)

What I don’t understand is why these would only come up on drying cycles as if either of these were actually a problem it would surely show up on wash cycles too? Tia

ok inlet problemi can understand as the dryer takes in small amounts of water to condense the steam

but the other fault as you say should show up on wash

does the dry cycle go into error from minute one or does it take a few minutes ?

It varies to be honest sometimes at the start of the dry cycle other times maybe halfway through, sometimes it’s F53 others it’s F12

we get a lot of problems on various makes of washer dryers where the element is starting to fail but not failed enough to blow your house safety trip, they have earth leakage faults on the element that plays havoc with the electronic sensors

you would have to measure the earth leakage of the element possibly when its hot
