Firstly, thank you to those who advised prior to the demise of a brand new Hotpoint Washer/Dryer. Three scratched doors later its going back!

Now I have in mind to replace it with a Miele WT2670 Washer/Dryer. Is this a good choice? There seems to be a lot of praise for Miele on the forum.

I see some comments that advise on using an ‘independant’ local retailer rather than the WWW. If you are one of them and would like to supply the above machine at £815 (or less) inc VAT and delivery, let me know! If you think I am taking the proverbial take a look at http://www.qed-uk.com

The machine has a manufacturer covered warranty for five-years, so spare the rhetoric on the benefits of after-sales service, etc. I do not wish to appear rude to those of you who kindly offer advise on here and are trying to make a living through shop retail, but when the difference in price is several hundred pounds, the local service would have to be quite something to justify the difference.

    Kind Regards

    Ian.

What a gent! I’ll do you one for £550, including a large box of washing powder and a bunch of flowers.

Now, do you know anything useful about the Miele WT2670, or is this forum your shop window?

I think we may have it the wrong way round after that little exposition:

    Mercedes Benz = Miele!

Seriously for a moment, excellent machines – your kids will probably be able to inherit it.

Just trying to offer a viable alternative to the overpriced Miele. The Siemens is a fantastic machine. ‘A’ rated wash, 1200 spin, 2 year guarantee, LED display, and a time remaining display.

If you don’t like getting FREE advice then you should stick that Miele…

You wanna know how much money I’ve made from this forum? Same as everyone else, NOTHING! We’re just giving free advice. Most people would take that model number I gave you, and do something usefull with it, but you just insult me!?!?!?!?! Typical Merc driver!

Would you like a pound of flesh too?

    Re: Miele WT2670 – Good choice ???

    Dear Goatboy

I am sorry if you feel offended. Certainly, your posting is offensive and clearly intended as such. If that is your idea of helpful, free advice, it is not mine.

I merely asked if you knew something useful about the specific machine I enquired about, such as gegsy has kindly done, albeit, its a lift of the product spec. Your posting did not even refer to my original question, you simply offered to sell me something else – no thanks.

If I wanted a Siemens, I could buy one and have it delivered for £505. I am interested in the Miele WT2670. If you know something about the reliability of this machine, please feel free to share your ‘free advice’.

I realise many of you help us without making money and I for one am grateful. But, you suggested selling me a machine for about £95 more than I can get it for and didn’t even mention the Miele, so frankly that’s the sort of ‘free’ advice I don’t need.

By the way, I have now purchased a Miele from a local retailer, who was helpful, polite and able to offer a competitive price.

Thank you to all those who have offered helpful comments.

    Ian.

Sorry about the outburst Ian, I get very grumpy in the morning. 😕

Glad to hear that you are sorted! 🙂

Ps. The general rule with Kelkoo, is that the people selling it the cheapest, don’t have the stock, but can offer an alternative. And £600 off me, includes installation and disposal of the old machine, and I have them in stock; but as you can see, i need to work on my customer service.

    Greg

Quite agree, thank you for the information. I was really trying to find out if those of you in the business (selling / servicing / repair) had any comments about the Miele in terms of reliability / problems. It seems there is general agreement they are fine machines. Of course, it will have to pass the wife test!

Thank you all again for your comments, and to Goatboy, no problem. If you think you’re grumpy in the morning ….. 🙁

    All the best.

    Re: Miele WT2670 – Good choice ???

Actually, a remarkabley simple machine and astonishingly reliable. A solid, well made appliance with electronics that don’t self destruct when you smile at them; this is reflected in the price.

The only down side is that on the off chance that it does fail some part prices verge on the scary.

The ones I service up here are always out in farms and country cottages. Come winter the little furry creatures come in out of the cold and nibble things they shouldn’t; so the repairs which I do do are damage, as opposed to failure.

    Regards,
    Penguin45.
