    I have a Miele WT2670 that is about seven years old. It works okay but fairly frequently now (for the last month or so) I will come to use it (after the machine has been turned off) and there will be a lot of water in the drum. It looks like the machine has tried to fill up and start a wash then just stopped!

    At present I have just drained the water and then continued to do the washing. And as I say, it will occur again in a day or so of leaving the machine alone.

    Anyone any clue what is going on?!

    Dodgy water inlet valve or backfiring from the drain are the two most obvious possibilities.
