Hi there,
We have a Miele WT2780 washer dryer that’s about 11 year’s old.
It’s mostly been well behaved, we try to look after it using the “rinse out fluff” cycle regularly and semi-regular descale washes.
We had a problem at the weekend where the drier wasn’t getting warm. We didn’t realise initially and just extended the dry cycle, in the end we got a “Technical Fault 55” error.
Yesterday, having done some reading online, I cracked it open and pressed the thermal reset button which had tripped, this resolved the issue. It’s getting warm again during drying which is great.
While I was in there I made sure to inspect the inside of the air duct (expecting it to be full of fluff) but it was pretty clear really. There was a touch of scum/limescale on the element but nothing disastrous.
As i say, it seems fine since I pressed the reset button, but I’m half expecting the issue will return before long, as there may be some other underlying problem.
If it does stop getting hot during the dry cycle again shortly, what would it be likely to be? Dodgy thermostat? Heating element?
Thanks in advance for any pointers,
Andy
