The above machine is presenting the F70 fault, the pump runs continually even with the machine off.

There are signs that there has been water in the base. There are severe signs of a leak from the left side door inner.

The float switch isn’t actuated and the micro-switch is operating correctly.

Are there any other switches on this appliance that would return the F70 fault or does this machine require resetting?

After the WaterProof System has activated, the program is interrupted and the drain pump is operated. The fault will be indicated in the display or via LEDs. The buzzer is activated for as long as the fault is detected.

Note: The drain pump continues to operate even after the appliance has been shut off. The drain pump can only be deactivated by disconnecting the power supply connection.

    Cause:
Water in the drip pan. Changeover contact of overflow float switch B8/3 closed from 1 to 4 (refer to the wiring diagram).

    Remedy:

    1. Remove the water from the drip pan (e.g., with an absorbent cloth).

    Note:
Upon opening the appliance and removing all water, there should be no smudges, smears or traces of deposits. Take pictures of any deposits, if possible, and note their type (rust, calcium, detergent, or salt?).

    2. Check all hoses, connections and threaded unions for leaks.

    Note:
If the leak source has not yet been detected, check the following areas in the toekick and the drip pan for wear and tear: Connection between the circulation pump and the sump. Axial face seal of the circulation pump.Connection between the drain pump and the sump. Connection between the salt container and the water intake. Connection between the water intake and the cabinet side wall. Overflow (e.g., excess foam formation). Water level between the overflows (seating of the lower door seal?) Connection between the cabinet and the salt container. Non-return valve in the sump ( water running back from the drain hose?)

    3. Check overflow float switch B8/3 for continuity and correct operation.

    4. Carefully dry all electrical components in the drip pan area.

    Cause:
    Float switch defective.

    Remedy:
    Replace overflow float switch B8/3.

    Cause:
    Drip pan warped after transport.

    Remedy:

    1. Remove the drip pan.

    2. Bend the drip pan straight or replace it if necessary.

    Hi Seamy,

    Thanks for all the information.

The drip pan was dry but showed signs of either calcium or salt. The polystyrene float switch was not touching the micro-switch which I assume is the overflow float switch B8/3.
Tests proved the switch contacts to be OK.
The fault showed on the LCD display, the machine was unplugged for a while and then plugged back in. the display showed a couple of numbers (43 I think) then reverted to F70 after about 4 seconds.
The drain pump ran continually regardless of whether the machine was on or not.

As unplugging the machine resets it and float switch is not activated is there anything else that would present this fault?

I’d be looking at the connection where the loom from float switch goes onto board. Check p.c.b for dust/cobwebs/dirt etc which sometimes can cause a erroneous fault to appear.
