    Hi

I have a Zanussi ZWI71201WA, which is sounding like a cement mixer, so I have bought a bearing and seal kit online.

I now have most of the machine apart, but before I proceed any further I have some questions, which I am hoping somebody can help me with:

Looking down on the drum, it seems as if it has a plastic welded seam and is therefore impossible to separate for servicing. Is this as possibility?

If so, as bearing and seal kits are available (I supposedly have one), might there be some other way of replacing the bearings which does not require the splitting of the housing?

Perhaps I won’t see the full picture until I get the drum assembly out, but am just afraid I may be wasting my time.

    Anyone know?

    Thank you.

    Thank you for this Dave.

I only ordered the bearings as YouTube is loaded with videos showing bearing replacement procedures and none of the few I watched warned that welded tubs were a thing.

Now I know I will have to consider whether I go down the new tank, or new machine route.

For the time being I am just going to put it back together and put up with the noise until I decide.

    Thanks for taking the time.

“For the time being I am just going to put it back together and put up with the noise until I decide”. You want to be careful doing that as the drum will drop if the front bearing goes to shrapnel. This can then rub against the front sealed half of the plastic tank and friction burns holes = major flood on a rinse spin. Not recommended you do that for obvious reasons.
