When I dry some washing in our washer drier it comes out with a mildewy smell, I’m sure you guys will have come across this – what can I do to get rid of the smell ?

    Thanks

    Hiya,
First thing that springs to my mind……….
With no detergent or clothes in the machine do a couple of boil washes. (no need to do the rinses and spins).
With machines washing at lower temperatures scum accumulates in the outer tubs, this begins to rot and smell.
Worth a try…. if it cures it then I suggest you do this on a regular basis.

Put 3 heaped tablespoons of Bicarbonate of Soda in the drum, then set it on a 60 degree wash cycle. Also wipe clean all the folds and crevices of the door gasket with a damp cloth and a bit of that Bicarb.

Take Dispenser Drawer fully out and clean inside the cavity. Finally, regular 60 washes will reduce the problem, and take care not to use too much detergent 😉

We find this is more of a problem with using liquid washing detergent than powder. If you are using liquid I suggest you change to powder or the hard block tablets once you have carried out the cleaning process as the others have said abaove.
