It sounds as though you still have a blockage, you need to remove the hose coming from the bottom of the drum and going in to the pump..check that out and get back to us

got the machine sorted to a degree!
the pressure switch was clogged up with soapy crap.
Ended up getting a mile washing machine repair man in,(not from mile) after he left the heater isn’t working, phoned him to say heater wasn’t working, but he said the machine wouldn’t work if the heater wasn’t working, would that be right?July 12, 2013 at 7:15 pm #397057Muv

I think they will still work, but just wont heat the water…maybe some of the connectors to the heater have been disturbed or even not put back on? They are located at the bottom of the front of the drum, directly under the door boot…

Hi Martin,
Thanks for your reply,Located heater it looks ok. I have a multimeter do you know if I can check it and what reading it should be roughly to prove it needs replacing?July 17, 2013 at 1:55 pm #397059Muv

Set your meter to 200 on the ohms range..let me know what reading you get… Also try removing the small black tune that leads from the pressure vessel up to the main circuit board…remove from the circuit board and blow down it…there still maybe a small blockage…you will hear a gurgling sort if sound if all is clear…if its not your cheeks will inflate !!

Hi Martin,
Blow OK.
Set my multimeter to 200ohms and put it across the 2 spade terminals with black wires(with the spade connectors removed) I left the earth connectors, underneath still connected. got no reading at all. connected the spade connectors back up,still got no reading. I then connected to the metal spring like washers behind the terminals where they are mounted to the heater, got readings but all over the show and not very accurate. so I know my multimeter was working correctly and I did nothing simple! Between the two spade connector terminals is a push plastic plug with very small black wires connected to it,I pulled that off and run the meter to the prongs, still no reading. What do you reckon?July 19, 2013 at 3:49 pm #397061Muv

Try a reading on the next setting down on your meter, but it sounds as though you have a open circuit (faulty) element…as for the small plug in connector, that is a NTC. Which basically reads your water temperature
When the heater is energised…Martin

Been offered a genuine mile water heater of a machine that’s been sold as spares on eBay for £20.00. probably go with that and change it.
Couldn’t see a way that the heater comes out,any ideas please?July 20, 2013 at 5:38 pm #397063Muv

Its just held in by the gold coloured circular clips, been a while since ive had to change one..just make sure you test for leaks before younswitch back on, as they never seem to be a nice tight fit..

Thanks for that Martin.
I just prise the clips off then, and wiggle it a bit and pull and it should come off ?and refit with the same or get new clips ? to test for leaks, can I do that with the door off?July 21, 2013 at 10:36 am #397065Muv

It is possible to use the old clips if you can get them off without damaging them,,also make sure the front of the element is correctly seated in th metal clips towards the rear of the drum.
As for testing for leaks i would not advise to do any live testing…just pour a few litres of water in to the drum with the power disconnected…

Hi again,
got the heater today and thought why wait till the weekend, got a spare hr let’s go for it!
Bit of brute force and leverage got the old heater off.
Carefully applied a bit of fairly liquid and gently placement as you said and got the new 2nd hand heater back in.
Poured a bit of water in as suggested and seemed ok.
reassembled and pressed the 40 degree button.
It works brilliantly.
Thanks for your help.that was £20 well spent!
Kind regards
