Hi, I’m moving to a smaller flat and don’t have room for both a dishwasher and my hotpoint dual fuel cooker.

The dishwasher which I use a lot! is more important to me than the big Hotpoint cooker – I live on my own and only tend to use the top small oven in the Hotpoint, and only a couple of rings on the hob.

So I’m thinking of replacing the cooker with a freestanding mini oven and a couple of portable induction hobs.

I’m thinking of buying the Sage BOV820BSS smart oven pro – it’s more expensive than a lot of other mini ovens but seems to get good reviews.
I want something with a grill, easy to operate and reliable. I plan to put it on a worktop under a cabinet.

For the induction hobs, I’m planning to put them on top of a new bit of worktop with the dishwasher under, in the place where the Hotpoint would have gone.

Could you give some advice on
    – whether the Sage mini oven is any good? Or if there are cheaper mini ovens just as good? I’ve no idea who makes the Sage and happy to get something similar and cheaper from the same stable…
    – if the induction hobs will be ok above a dishwasher? I’m wondering if the metal in the dishwasher might interfere with the induction function?

    Many thanks for your help!

    Hi

I must admit to not of hearing about the Sage ovens so a little digging and a learning curve is good. Looks like they are from the same group as Breville who over the years have had a good reputation in small appliances. That said the Sage oven is an all together different beast, with convection cooking, multi elements and multi function cooking I can see the benefit of it as it does all that a full size cooker would do but in a much smaller box. I would say it’s the best table top oven I have come across.

The induction hobs will work over the dishwasher okay as the pan recognition sensor in the hob only recognises the saucepan when it’s put on the hob.

Thanks so much Don, for your very quick and full reply. The Sage it is then!
