Thinking of replacing a door catch (hooks) …but it is recommended a leak test should be carried out afterward…I dont have one of there are I dont repairs these normaly.
is it ilegal to carry out withtout doing this. or dangerous.

You can get a basic leak detector from (say) Amazon from between £10 and £50. I half suspect that many guys that fix microwaves simply wave a voltage stick around the door surround anyway.
