    I have had this fault, every so often, for a couple of years.
    The temperatures start to soar in both compartments.
    So far, someone has always spotted it in time and, by turning off and on again, the fault has cleared.

    What has to be done to cure the fault for good?

    No one seems to be able to suggest what to do / replace.
