I’m sure this forum gets loads of questions like this, but I’ve been unable to find anything n this particular problem.

It’s started making a quite loud buzzing noise from the very bottom right of the unit. I’ve removed the plastic grill and cleaned it all. Switching it off and on at the mains seems to stop it for a while, but eventually after a few minutes the noise starts again. Then on and off forever. It seems to be getting slightly worse over time too.

There doesn’t seem to be any build up of ice anywhere and the noise is definitely coming from the bottom right rather than the fan at the back – read a lot of things saying to remove the back panel and so on. The temperatures of the fridge and freezer parts seem to be stable and at -4/ -22 which is what they’ve always been at, so it seems to be ‘working’ okay for now but I imagine that’s going to change.

From other things I’ve read, it sounds like it might be a compressor thing, but I’ve no idea. Hence me asking you guys.

    Thanks in advance…

Either the compressor of the fan motor I would think as they’re the only moving parts.

What do you think – cost wise – for repairing either of them? Worth it or replace the whole thing?

(and thanks again for the reply)

Depends TBH, compressor figure on about £200 or so, fan motor roughly half that unless it’s an expensive one.
