Mistral Plus FF80

I bought this fridge freezer second hand 18months ago. Everything worked fine until about a week ago when the fridge tempreture suddenly and inexplicably rose. I took out the fridge light and everything returrned to normal after about 3 or 4 days.

Then today I found that the tempreture had suddenly risen again. After an internet search I found this site. Although the models of Mistral were not the same as my model the problems described sounded unpleasently similar.

Is the problem likely to be the thermistors or an ice buildup? What measures can I take to fix the problem?

If an engineer is reuired I may be better off purchasing a second hand replacement because I cannpt afford to buy new at the moment.

Start with the basics – get it fully defrosted and see whether the ice reforms quickly or not. If it ices up rapidly, it would suggest problems with the temperature control circuits. Thermistors or PCB likely culprit, engineer time if you’re not sure how to diagnose. Check repairs@ or Directories for a repairer in your area.

Power off if you wish to investigate further.
