We use Tom Tom Go 500’s (IIRC) or at least the trainers do as well as my father and all seem to think it’s brilliant. It is both GPS and a bluetooth hands free kit.
I used it once and thought it was a brilliant bit of kit.
Try doing a search but we got ours from Halfords in the end.

Hi Robra, sorry about the delay getting back to you, I use my nokia 6680 with a bluetooth gps reciever and tom tom 5 mobile, the phone I get on contract, but the gps reciever was £45.00 offa ebay and the tom tom program came with the phone on a cd from vodafone.
It is really cool and can navigate you to a postcode, point of interest eg tourist attraction etc or just to a plain address, it has a 3d realtime display and also warns you of traffic cameras etc and to top it all off, I have Joanna Lumley giving turn by turn voice directions and when you get to your destination, she says “you have reached your destination darling”…its worth its weight in gold.

Thanks for that Washtec. I’m due a new phone from Carphone Warehouse so will check it out but is the phone screen big enough to see clearly? I had looked at sat nav systems since my message with a bigger screen.
Thanks again

I use the nokia 6680 and the screen is perfect for satnav, but I would imagine that some mobile screens would be a bit small…however my 6680 is just right, one other thing about using bluetooth gps with a smartphone is that it is portable, my mate who fits waterbeds uses an Ipaq and wired gps aerial and he has to disconnect it all when leaving the van and there are wires all over the place.ps/ some of the latest smartphones have massive tft screens so I would have a good mooch around before making a decision, but I am more than happy with my set up.

I use an XDA11 (o2) It’s brilliant. It’s a ‘smartphone’ that I use as a PDA, Telephone, Calculator, Camera, Sat Nav… I can even browse the UKW website in my lunchbreak.
… Lunchbreak? What’s that?
