ParticipantIs this one now a deader, seeing as we’re all now in here?

Not at all Chris, the forum by definition has a specific purpose and importance I reckon 😉

I wouldn’t think it was a deader at all. I’m not a moderator, have access to this room & don’t feel the need to browse the moderator forums. None of my business and not interested in the background and technicalities.
I did get a security alert this morning when I logged onto the site & was asked to download a certificate. Not sure if this was Kosher??

Bloody Hell! I wouldn’t have thought so! Are we being hacked again Ken?

KeymasterRe: Mods/Site Admin Forum
No the Moderator forum has its place and use from time to time.
There’s no hack I know of, it was possibly the SSL certificate that you needed if you accessed an HTTPS page. 😉

Yeah, the mod forum has it’s uses (titles scrolling ;)), we may also introduce new mod’s in time who won’t have access here.
Trevor who is the third and mainly unseen admin (works for Li) also uses that forum to communicate with us, not very often mind you as he’s in IRC more often than not 🙂

Sorry, fogot to mention the certificate thing, it looks as if the certificate has been updated by the SSL providers for the shop@.

Dave.
Does that mean we have to put up with that everytime we log on?
May I suggest we put something in the main forums to reassure all visitors/browsers what it is there for & what procedure they need to take if any.
I did e-mail a copy of the certificate to Ken from my office. Now I’m at home I won’t know till Monday if he in fact did respond.

It only affects the shop as that is the only part of the site that is forced to use SSL, if you have https:// at the beginning of http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk in your browser that will be why.
You can view the site as a whole without the security thing or with, it’s only when it’s being browsed using the security that the certificate warning appears.
Ken or I will get on to Trevor about it if the problem persists, it seems to have resolved itself now.

KeymasterI phoned Dave earlier about it, the thought as to why struck me in the car on the way to a wedding which I didn’t want to be at, so sloping off and calling Dave and Kev seemed a fine plan. 😉
However, the problem should be fixed now.

It is 😀
And Trevor and I sorted the cc module for the shop while some were “givin’ it large ” in their kilts at a wedding 😆
