This oven has heat coming out of the top left hand side of the oven door which is discolouring the handle and facia in that area. The seal seems fine as well as the hinges and the door is closing properly. Stat is fine. On the inside of the door in the same area is a little slot/vent, which is where the heat seems to be coming from. What is this for and what could be causing this problem? There is no cooling fan on this oven.

    Thanks

    Re: Moffat Oven Burning Handle

does it vent through the handle ?

i think its an elux model so a pnc would be useful

edit – think i found it on procorner as a 949710439-00??

looks like cheapy static, and it says its from 1995, has it not had its day and just got tired? besides parts are riduculous prices for this!

spoke to fagor a while ago about this happening on a batch of their ovens we had sold – all lhs of handles, and the response was that it was due to food being cooked uncovered. needless to say about a month later the oven range had been discontinued and replaced with a design where it didnt vent out the handle…
