Hi, i am looking for a new small chest freezer (3.8cuft capacity or perhaps smaller but no less than 2cuft).

Are some makes recommended over others? My 5.5 yr old zanussi has just given up the ghost.

Any thoughts on lec?I guess i am looking at the cheaper end of the market unless anyone gives a glowing recommendation for more expensive brands.

    thanks.

norfrost are cheap. are they rubbish?

Edit: I”ve had another thought about my freezer situation. I ‘m wondering whether I could get a sturdy freestanding cupboard/shelves (for more storage space in my kitchen) and then put an upright freezer on top. I generally prefer chest freezers due to having physical problems making bending difficult, but it would be ok if placed high. Would this mean I was then restricted to getting a small table top freezer, or would I be able to put a standard sized upright on top of a cupboard? I’m supposing it might be dangerous due to being unstable or something like that?

    Hi skoop

Lec chest freezers are fine as are the ranges from Hotpoint and Whirlpool. You could have a table top frezer on top of a cupboard unit like the Lec U5026W.
