Every September I get my van serviced and MOT’d. As the MOT runs out today I got my van sorted last Saturday. 🙂
However, the guy from the dealers rang me that morning to say my van had failed the MOT because I have ‘cherished plates’ that weren’t approved in the new regulations. 😥
It turns out that the new regs came into place in October last year and as my van was MOT’d a month earlier it passed, not this time though!
Specifically in my case the fancy plates have the Vauxhall symbol ‘watermarked’ across the plate and the lettering in 3D. Both of which aren’t acceptable any more. Fortunately I had a kosher set of plates at home to swap and so my van subsequently passed it’s MOT, but not without some inconvenience.
I must remember to put my kosher plates on next time I get it MOT’d though 😉
