Motor brush fail (just 1)

    Anyone had it where only 1 more brush has failed?

    Been to a couple over the last few months where this has happened, weirdly both graphite Hotpoints!

    getting more common
    you will find the motor is dc but dont know if its the +ve or -ve brush that fails

    Ah never even thought of that!

    I had another where both brushes had worn so replaced them, after 1 cycle it errored again so went back to check, looked like one of the brushes had overheated and the case had stuck to the holder with the brush being stuck inside.

    have had problems like that with cheap copy brushes using poor case plastic that wont take heat

    Funny you should mention that, seem to remember getting some after market ones recently when genuine were out of stock, bet it was them.
