Hi, new to the site 🙂

My hotpoint wml540 has been giving me trouble the last few days.. Randomly stopping, door lock clicking ect .

Every time manually opening the door giving the drum a couple of turns and restarting has got it going.

Having a google suggested motor brushes… So today i removed the brushes….

    Well worn!!

Now i have managed to find replacement in the store on this site.. Its an acc motor and comes up as fitted to hoover and cnady machines 😯

Small question.. See the image of the brushes..

Compare to mine i have removed, the chamfer on the carbon is cut the oposite way 😕

Will this be an issue.. ???

Yes, unless you can carefully file the new ones to match the profile of the old ones.

NB. Doing what you did, spinning the drum and keeping running the machine is a sure fire way of causing permanent damage to the motor or the electronics, one of those brushes looks a real mess. :rolls:

    Cheers

I dont actually think they were correct ones. Found some more on ebay the are same colour and cut the correct way.

    Thanks

I think the replacement brush part number for this motor is C00194594 (sold singly)….IIRC?
