🙁 On several occassions I have condemmed an otherwise functional motor / armature due to a screaming bearing at the multi- v pulley end. I encounter a range of motor brands with this fault.

❓ Is there a method for removing and refitting these pulleys?

With FHP (AEG), SOLE, CESET and SELNI motors you can shift the front pulley with an automotive type gear puller. They can excert up to 10 tonnes of force. Occasionally you have to load it up, go and have dinner and the come back and tap the assembly with a hammer – but it always shifts!

This doesn’t work for Hotpoint armatures. The pulley will NOt come off, But Hey! they’re cheap enough (while they last).

Mind you – I’ve also got an hydraulic puller that’ll do 50 tonnes and that’ll shift anything!

The bearings themselves are proprietory items that can be bought from any bearing/transmission wholesaler.
