ParticipantA number of posts have been moved lately into their correct forums but Ken always advised me to unstick the ‘shadow’ box. I think that sound advice otherwise it clutters up the public general forum and Joe Public continue posting in there when seeing other fridge posts (for example) 😉
Comments?

Yes, please don’t leave a shadow behind 🙂
If the poster gets a “topic reply” it takes them to the new position so there’s no need for it to be honest.

Supposing he/she just logs on and looks for his post and assumes it deleted due to lack of interest? I reckon the shadow should be left.

Fair point.
May I suggest then that in the public forums the shadow is left but not in the trade areas. It may also be a good idea to reply to any moved posts advising as such, that way the poster will have a pretty fast way of knowing where and why it has been moved 😀

I’m sorry I brought up this subject now as I suspect that UKW forums by this time next year (if not sooner?) will be plastered in “Moved” everywhere!
Ah well! 🙄

KeymasterExactly…
I thought I’d just roll my eyes and let you get on with it. Apart from anything else it fecks up the scrolling box, makes a mess and confuses people.
Now can we please not leave trails when a subject is moved? Just move it completely.

Thanks Chris, I was going to move it earlier, I noticed this morning it was in “general” but then got distracted 😕
Was it in OT to start with then ?

😳Hands up time, I saw Martin’s post in the aforementioned thread, and agreed that it should not be in ‘UK Whitegoods’ so moved it to ‘Off Topic’ but reading the header for the ‘General Trade’ forum………”This forum is for any general queries, questions, humour, chat, anything really”………. I thought I had made a mistake as the post is trade related as opposed to completely off topic, so I moved it again, I hope I am making myself clear. 🙂

No, in UKW forum. Martin shunted it with the sarky (or was it ironic) post, an hour later it was in General Trade………

But do you follow my logic, it is ( to some people ) humorous, and it is trade related in as much as it is discussing events in customers homes. 🙂
However I will resist the temptation to pedantically move it back. 😉 😀

There’s a fine line between humour and vulgarity; and the whole thing had gone off topic anyway. Probably best where it is now.

You can move that particular thread around all available forums if you like guys, I rather it be DELETED altogether!
On one hand we have to be clear and factual, on another, helpful and informative, yet another, relaxed and easy going and ready to share a joke or two. So does that mean the likes of our British Gas friend one funkyboogy, can FART on UKW as well as in a customers house???
………………………..Not in my book he can’t, be rid of such demeaning tripe I say 👿
